Gordman earned the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® designation from the American College or Financial Services in 2019, and was the first philanthropist in the Omaha community to do so, a reflection of his passion for engaging in informed, impactful philanthropy.
Through his active service on non-profit boards, Gordman provides guidance on how to leverage key performance indicators and a strategic planning process to ensure a quantitative return on philanthropic investments.
Gordman is currently chair of NYC-based Inheritance Theater Project, a national social impact organization engaged in community bridge building. He is also a member of the Impact Investing and Strategic Planning Committees of the Omaha Community Foundation.
Gordman has previously served on the boards of Habitat for Humanity Omaha, The Bemis Center for Contemporary Art, The Omaha Symphony, YPO Gold Nebraska, (for which he served as Learning Chair), the Omaha Community Foundation, the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce, Sienna-Francis House, Completely Kids, Omaha Literacy Council, Omaha Community Playhouse, American Red Cross (Nebraska/Southwest Iowa Region), Jewish Federation of Omaha and Community Health Charities.
